Hübner, born 1962 in Vienna, Austria
I turned to photography in 1993 after years as musician. As I was tremendously impressed by the power of expression of high-quality fine arts prints, my first years in this field were filled with learning the basics about photography followed by my need for excelling in the negative and positive technique introduced by Ansel Adams. A few years later after several trips to various segments of the photographic landscape (like infrared-shots, landscape and spontaneous snapshot photography) I developed my individual style which was and still is mainly influenced by the works of Czech photographers Michal Macku and Jan Saudek. Long before a picture comes alive and is realised, I have the idea and the image of it in my head. All my experience, my feelings and dreams are the material from which slowly but surely shapes as well as light & shade impacts are formed which I then further develop into the real thing whith the help of models and self-developed manipulation techniques. My demands on the finished prints lies with the authentic description and production of fleeing moments of joy or fear which are known to every human being.
